Jimmie C. Covington Services for Jimmie C. Covington will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Eric Mabbott and Dr. Paul Honimichl officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Covington, 83, of Meridian died Monday, December 31, 2012, at his residence. He served in the United States Army and was in the 198th Tank Battalion where he served under Sonny Montgomery. Mr. Covington was a member and deacon of Bailey Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years Jamie Covington of Meridian; children Bobby Covington and his wife Cindy of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Amy Odom and her husband Ricky of Meridian and Kyle Covington and his wife Amy of Meridian; grandchildren Christopher Covington and his wife Alexa, Matt Covington, Haley Davis and her husband Shaun, Raleigh Williams and her husband Dan, Shelley Courtney and her husband Kip, Ashley Gibson and her husband Tyler and Kristen Covington, and great-grandchildren Hope and Jude Davis , Cooper Gordon, Nick Williams and Brett and Tenley Gibson He was preceded in death by his parents Rube and Delia Covington. Pallbearers will be Chris Covington, Matt Covington, Shaun Davis, Dan Williams, Kip Courtney and Tyler Gibson. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at robertbarhamffh.com.
