Mr. Pruitt, 75, of Meridian passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, August 2, 2016.  After receiving a heart transplant in 1997, Jimmie returned to work at Clearspan Components, retiring with 45 years of service.

The service of celebration will be today, August 5, at 1 pm at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery thereafter.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jan Pruitt, daughter’s Kimberly Ferris and Cristi Red and their husband’s Michael and Tracy, grandchildren Shelby, Rachel & Leah Ferris and Nelson Britt, brother Arnold Ray Pruitt and sister-in-law Jenny Pruitt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and parents Jim and Ruby.

Participants in today’s service are: Reverends Terrence Roberts, Paul Earley, Timothy Craddock, Jeff and Paula Mercer, Shelby Ferris and the 8th Avenue Ensemble.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Akridge, Hayden Adkins, Mark Busby, Jimmie Irby, Patrick Keller and Jon Henry Smith.
