Funeral services for Mrs. JoAnn D Goldman will begin at 12:00 pm Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with the Reverends Dr. Carl White and David Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Goldman, 88, of Meridian, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. JoAnn will always be remembered for her love of God and teaching others to love God to all she came in contact with. Mrs. JoAnn began her teaching career in 1982 at Highland Baptist Church Child Development Center where she retired in May of 2018 after 36 years of molding and teaching children, parents and grandparents. She was very active at Highland Baptist Church, where she was a member of the adult choir, having participated in The Singing Christmas tree for 33 years, a Sunday School Director, as well as a GA Director and teacher; among many other tasks serving wherever she was needed. She was a member of The Silver Cross Circle, a former Pink Lady, a great golfer, bowler and overall athlete. She was also a mother to the 82 children on Myrtlewood Drive. Mrs. JoAnn was a breast cancer survivor of over 40 years and shared her testimony whenever possible. “Lucille” was full of life, love and vigor and shared her joy of life to all she met.
Mrs. JoAnn is survived by her children, Connye Meredith (Kelsie), Karyn Heard (Michael), and Greer Goldman (Sherri). Grandchildren, Karla Goldman, Emily Moulds, and Allen Goldman. Great-grandchildren, Koty Newman (Rebecca), Maggie Newman, Addy Goldman, Ainsley Moulds, and Anniston Moulds. Nephews and nieces, Gary Davison, Lynn Goldman, Marc Davison, Eddy Goldman, Del Davison, and Sharon Burkhalter; and special great-nieces, Kim Davison Shirley and Tracie Brantley. One sister-in-law, Marolyn Davison, as well as a host of extended family.
Mrs. Goldman is preceded in death by her husband, Karl L. Goldman; son, Karl L. Goldman, Jr. “Nicky “. Her parents, Lee Marcellus Davison, Sr. and Mary Catherine Davison. Brothers, Lee M. Davison; sister-in-law, Marjorie Davison; brother, Hal Leavitt Davison; sister-in-law, Peggy Davison; and brother, Jerry Davison.
The family requests memorials be made as donations to The Cancer Benevolence Fund at Anderson Regional Medical Center or to Highland Baptist Church Music Ministry in lieu of flowers.
