Joey Jay Naylor

March 25, 1970 — May 27, 2025

Graveside services for Mr. Joey Jay Naylor will begin at 11:00 AM Monday, June 2, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Elder Casey Naylor officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Joey Jay Naylor was born March 25, 1970, in Meridian, Mississippi, to the late Bobbye and Earlie Naylor. He confessed Christ at an early age and remained grounded in his faith throughout his life.

Joey was a proud graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School, where his talents and leadership began to shine. He went on to further his education at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, where he majored in Psychology. While at ASU, Joey played football for the Hornets and was a proud member of the 1991 SWAC Championship Team-an achievement he held close to his heart and often reflected on with deep pride and love for his teammates.

In 1997, while in Montgomery, Joey met the love of his life, Felicia. The two married and shared a beautiful, fun-filled life together-marked by deep love, laughter, and partnership through every season of life.

Joey also had a special place in his heart for the city of Miami, a place that brought him great joy over the years. He worked for many years at Rheem Manufacturing until his health began to decline.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Joey passed away peacefully at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Felicia Naylor; his beloved sons, Caleb Madden and Jaylan Naylor; his loving sisters, Toyer Walker and Katricia Herlong; and a host of extended family, friends, and cherished loved ones who will forever honor his memory, his strength, and the love he gave so freely.
