John Douglas Cobb was born to Louis and Bama Joyce Cobb of Andalusia, Alabama on January 5, 1933. Douglas loved Jehovah and the truth at a very early age, and he publicly symbolized his dedication to Jehovah on July 19, 1947. He then moved to Meridian, Mississippi, where he married his wife, Helen, who preceded him in death December 2013.

Douglas is survived by his step-daughter, Sandra McElroy; his sister, Carrie Joyce Cobb Harp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Brooks “Dick” Cobb and Bama Joyce Turner Cobb; his wife, Helen Cobb; his brothers, Lewis Eugene Cobb, James Winston Cobb, Robert Morgan Cobb, Howell Franklin Cobb, and Harry Daniel Cobb.

One of John’s favorite scriptures
Isaiah 65: 21-23
“They will build houses and live in them. And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. They will not build for someone else to inhabit, Nor will they plant for others to eat. For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full. They will not toil for nothing, Nor will they bear children for distress, Because they are the offspring made up of those blessed by Jehovah, and their descendants with them.”

The family of John Douglas Cobb would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness, sympathy, and concern during his illness and death.
