John Michael "Mickey" Farr Funeral services for John Michael "Mickey" Farr will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, with Dr. John Temple and Dr. James Ruffin officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Farr, age 68, of Meridian passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at his residence. Mickey was born on January 16, 1946. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after serving for thirty-three plus years with the Mississippi Air National Guard. He was an outdoor enthusiast, but weight lifting and the beach were his passions. Mickey lived life to the fullest regardless of the danger. He loved his family and his country and was totally patriotic. Survivors include his wife, Karen Farr of Meridian; sons, Lance Farr and his wife, Tina of D'Iberville, Mississippi and Michael Koch of Montgomery, Alabama; brother, Jim Farr of Meridian; grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron Farr; uncle, Lindy Callahan and wife, Ann of Gulfport, Mississippi and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. "Pee Wee" and Mary Bernard Farr and sons, Michael Derek Farr and Stewart Temple. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, Wounded Warrior Fund or the charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Richard Armstrong, Larry Dean, Sonny Fisher, Frank Baker, T. L. Slayton and Ned McCormick.
