John C. Gist, Sr. Mr. Gist's wishes were granted by having a private family graveside service on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Gist Family Cemetery. Reverend Ryan Moore will officiate and Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gist, 75, of Causeyville community died Friday, June 28, 2013 at his home. He was born in Pryor, Oklahoma in 1937 and worked as an electrician out of IBEW Local Union #917 of Meridian. Survivors include sons, John C. Gist, Jr. and his wife, Lynda of Lauderdale, Scott H. Gist, Sr., and his wife, Beth of Meridian, daughters, Cinde Gist of Home of Hope in Vinita, OK, Betty York and her husband, Clynt, of Owasso, OK; Grandchildren, Scott H. Gist, Jr., and wife Samantha of Meridian, Brooks Gist and wife, Michelle of Pascagoula, MS, Eric Gist and wife, Amy of Meridian, Hunter Gist, of Meridian, Travis York and wife, Mindy of Owasso, OK and Kelly Mounce and husband Jay of Clinton, IL; Great grandchildren, Madison and Mason Gist of Meridian, Abby Gist, of Hickory, James Gist, of Pascagoula, MS, Gibson and Griffin Gist, of Meridian, Patrik and Priscilla Le, of Owasso, OK, Trynton and Trinity York of Owasso, OK; Sister, Jaci Barron and husband, Dr. Gary Barron of Hico, TX; a lifelong best friend, Jack Moman of Cullman, AL, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Blair Batson Children's Hospital in honor of great grandchildren Madison and James Gist.
