John Scott Grant, Sr. Memorial services for John Scott Grant, Sr. will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Grant, 73, of Meridian, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Rush Hospital. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Grant retired as an electrician. He worked as superintendant of maintenance for the Silver Star Casino. Mr. Grant was a very avid bowler and had a massive bowling family. He was loved by many as a great football and basketball coach in Kirbyville, TX. Survivors include his wife, Kate Grant of Meridian; children, John Scott Grant, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Trinity, AL, Michael Grant and his wife Claudia of Saratoga, TX, Melinda Midkiff of Kirbyville, TX, Richard Grant and his wife Melissa of Kirbyville, TX, Rebecca Putzier and her husband Duane of Alexandria, SD; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Thomas Hammond of Beaumont, TX.
