John Barney Gunn, Jr.

John Barney Gunn, Jr. Graveside for John Barney Gunn, Jr. will be held Monday, January 24, 2011, at 2:00p.m., at Magnolia cemetery, with the Reverend Dr. Rhett Payne officiating, and Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gunn died Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Infinity Hospice. Mr. Gunn was a retired plant manager at Tuscaloosa Veneer Plant. He was also a retired Realtor, and an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie H. Gunn, of Meridian, his stepsons, Justin Catlett, of Meridian, David Catlett, of Mobile, Alabama, Jim Carney, of Jackson, Tom Carney, of Ruston, Louisiana, and Ken Carney, of Meridian. He was also survived by three stepdaughters, Linda Miller, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Elizabeth "Libby" Mitchell, of Meridian, and Diane McDonald, of Lake Eddins, his nephews, Harlan Davis and Kenneth Davis, of Meridian, a niece, Janice Davis LaRue, of Naples, Florida, and a special friend, Linda Neal, of Meridian. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Howell Gunn, his wife, Opal Catlett Gunn, his son, John Eric Gunn, his parents, John Barney Gunn, Sr. and Edna Ollhott Gunn, and his sisters, Marguerite Gunn Davis and Nathalie Gunn. Visitation will be held Monday, January 24, 2011, from 12:00-1:30p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Harlan Davis, Ken Davis, Jeff Davis, Justin Catlett, Gunnar Catlett, Jim Carney, Tom Carney, and Ken Carney.
