John T. Holifield Retired Businessman Services for John Travis Holifield will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Floyd, Reverend Ray Boone, and Reverend Bob Followell officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Holifield, 82, of Meridian, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Laurel, MS, and raised in Ellisville, MS. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Holifield never met a stranger and was dearly loved by his family and friends. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Sta-home Hospice for their special care and attention shown to our family. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Alice Todd Holifield of Meridian, MS; four daughters, Angela Mowdy and husband Wilbur of Meridian, MS, Sheila Webster and husband Steve of Meridian, MS, Stephanie Holifield of Collinsville, MS, and Sandy Davidson and husband Chad of Meridian, MS; grandchildren Melissa Mowdy, David Mowdy, Derek Mowdy and wife Shannon, Amber Fortenberry and husband Chris, Brandon Adams, Stephanie Kirkpatrick, Daniel Webster and wife Melicent, Chase Davidson, and Chance Davidson; great-grandchildren Charlotte Webster, Catherine Kirkpatrick, Daphne Webster, Merideth Kirkpatrick, and Blaine Fortenberry; brother James Holifield and wife Patricia of Ellisville, MS, sister-in-law Ollie B. Holifield of Tuscaloosa, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William Forest and Azzie Holifield; brothers William Forest Holifield, Jr., and Marion Holifield; and sisters Aline Zuccarelli and Carolyn Holifield. Pallbearers will be Brandon Adams, David Mowdy, Derek Mowdy, Chris Fortenberry, Daniel Sorrick, and Wayne Davidson. Honorable Pallbearers will be Chase Davidson and Chance Davidson.
