Visitation services for Mr. John Lee Davis, Jr. will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. John Davis, age 58, of Meridian passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center.

John was born in Meridian, Mississippi, and attended Meridian High School, graduating with the Class of 1986. During his school years, he enjoyed playing basketball and participating in various sports. Throughout his life, some of his favorite pastimes included spending time with family and friends, playing basketball, and, as those closest to him would jokingly say, losing at a good game of spades.

He was employed as a mechanical assembler at Raytheon for four years. John was affectionately described by his friends and coworkers as a “gentle giant.” His quiet spirit, kind heart, and calming presence made him someone people naturally respected and trusted. Many of his coworkers regarded him as much more than a colleague; to them, he was like a brother, a father, or an uncle. He had a way of making those around him feel supported, cared for, and valued.

John was strong in his faith and lived his life according to the principle, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” His life reflected kindness, humility, compassion, and respect for others. If you ever had the privilege of meeting John, chances are he left an impression on your life simply by being the gentle and genuine person he was.

Above all, John was a loving and devoted father. He took tremendous pride in raising his daughter and was especially proud of the intelligent young woman she became. He devoted much of his life to fatherhood, working to make sure she was loved, supported, protected, and had everything she needed. Being her father was one of his greatest joys and accomplishments.

John will be sorely missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives he touched. His quiet strength, gentle spirit, love for his family, and unwavering faith will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

We love you, Brother, and we will miss you more than words can express. Your presence may be gone from our sight, but the impact of your life and the love you gave will never be forgotten.

Survivors include: One daughter, Lauryn Alexis Davis (Kame), Six sisters: Carol Jean Brady of California, Vanessa Collins, Meridian, MS, Janice Roberts, Kalamazoo, MI, Geraldine Boston, Meridian, MS, Felecia Brown, Meridian, MS, and Deloris Terrell, Meridian, MS. One aunt, Lillie B. Boston. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Lee Davis, Sr., his mother, Earlene Davis, his brothers, Carl and David Boston, and a sister, Carol Anne Boston.
