John Plowman, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. John Plowman, Jr. will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Pine Forest Baptist Church with Pastor Andy May officiating.  Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. John Plowman, Jr., age 77, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 16, 2019.

Mr. Plowman was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after thirty-three years of employment.  He was an avid fisherman and adored spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Plowman is survived by his children, Eric Plowman (Rosie), Alex Plowman (Dale), and Emily Elam (Jamie); his grandchildren, Andrew Plowman, Shelby Plowman, Abby Plowman, Claudia Elam, Cameron Plowman, Addie Keene, and Carter Keene; and his beloved cat, L.B.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lavella Plowman; his wife of forty-four years, Elizabeth Plowman; and his sister, Betty Knight.

Pallbearers will be Keith Ethridge, Michael Lee, Chris Keene, Joey Knight, Brandon Deweese, and Ken May.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Collinsville Bass Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared with the charity of donor’s choice.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
