John "Jeff" Jefferson Robbins, Sr. Services for John "Jeff" Robbins, Sr. will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 11:00a.m., at Oak Grove Baptist Church at Bonita, with the Reverends Roy Dabbs and Jim Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery Bonita Community, Meridian, MS, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Robbins, age 69, of Meridian, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at Rush Hospital. He was born January 22, 1942 to Joseph Burton Robbins and Emma Townsend Robbins. He was employed up to his death with Structural Steel Services for over 20 years. Jeff was known for his hard work ethic, mastery carpentry skills, cabinet making, and draftsmanship. Mr. Robbins will always be remembered as a wonderful and dedicated husband to Linda Smith Robbins for over 48 years. He was also a loving dad to John J. Robbins, Jr., and his wife Kim Hill Robbins, Christian "Chris" A. Robbins, and his wife Danette Higginbotham Robbins, and as "POPPY" to four precious grandchildren; Luke Robbins, Christin Robbins, Chloe Robbins, and Levi Robbins. Other survivors are sisters; Jean R. Mason of Meridian, and Syvilla R. Miller of Daleville, and several other nieces and nephews, and Bill Rouse's Adult Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Burton Robbins, his mother Emma Townsend Robbins, his brother Bill Robbins, his sisters Clara Van Doren and JoAnn Ruthledge, and nephew Eugene "Tiny" Robbins. Pallbearers will be Tommy Dulaney, Tony Dean, Eddie Partridge, Danny Napp, Lewis Robbins, Terry Van Doren, David Van Doren, Teddy Hudnall, Andy Miles, and Fred Smith Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons; Luke Robbins, Levi Robbins, and special friend Russell Starker. Visitation will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, from 5:00-8:00p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
