John S. Smith, Jr. Graveside service for John S. Smith, Jr. will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, 11:00 am at Mississippi State Veteran's Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Milton Smith and Pastor Sarita Rainey officiating and Robert Barham Barham Family Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith, 82, of Meridian, MS died Friday September 14, 2012 at Rush Hospital. He was a long and faithful member of Gospel Lighthouse Church. He retired from Southern Natural Gas Company. He served his country in the Army and Navy. Mr. Smith was also a member of Son's of the Confederacy He is survived by his wife of 62 years Sara Smith of Meridian. Son, Johnny Smith and wife Donna of Meridian. Daughter, Sarita Rainey and husband Brad of Meridian. Daughter, Mary Skipper and husband Wallace of House, MS. Daughter, Susan Smith and Chad Peavy. Son, Luke Smith and wife, Christina of Fairbanks, Alaska. Grandchildren, Tabitha Brunel, Christopher Smith, Layla Neyman, Cara Shirley, JoAnna McCraney, Scott Rainey, Bradford Rainey, Lindsey Rainey,Amy Pass, Joshua Smith, Kristian Smith, Sara Ashley Smith, and Nikkole Smith. 15 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
