Services celebrating the life of John David Booker will be held at Coker's Chapel United Methodist Church in Vimville on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00am. The family will receive loved ones and friends from 10:00am until 11:00am at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 22, 2017.  He leaves behind to cherish the joy he brought to their lives his parents, Johnny and Lana Booker; his children John Hunter Booker, Farris Booker Jackson, and Sarah Lindsay Booker and the mother of his children, Jennifer Dearman Booker; his sisters, Suzanne Leemkuil and Kristie Stultz; his grandmother, Nell Dorman Swanner and his beloved nieces and nephews; brothers-in law, Mark Stultz and Kevin McReynolds and his loved aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his precious sister, Lisa McReynolds.

John was born August 9, 1966 at Riley Hospital. He was a special young man; a great bundle of joy to have preceding two girls. Wherever John went, he brought happiness and wouldn't let you be sad for long.  John was a very generous person who was always looking out for someone else.  He was the owner of the Ritz Formal Wear for many years and would often give away tuxedos to kids that couldn't afford one. He was always looking out for people that were sick and taking them plates of food to help them out as our Savior teaches us to do.  He was the father of three beautiful children that he loved very much.  He would always say it was the one thing he got right in this world!

He was a lifelong member of Coker's Chapel UMC where he confessed Christ at an early age.  John attended Jeff Davis Academy until 7th grade and had many friends and was voted class favorite twice. After transferring to Southeast and graduating BETA, he continued his education at MCC and MSU. He was also very proud to be an Eagle Scout with Troop # 27 at Coker's Chapel. John also served six years with the National Guard in Meridian.

Yes, the coming years we will miss that smiling, happy face and generous spirit, but we know that God never makes a mistake. John's favorite scripture was "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. I will build you up again; Again you will take up the timbres and go out to dance with the joyful." Jeremiah 31:3-4
