Johnny Roy Rushing

Services for Johnny Roy Rushing will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:30 am at Robert Barham Family Funeral home with reverend Michael Yancey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Rushing, 87, of Meridian died, Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Beehive Homes of Marion.

Mr. Rushing retired as a Brakeman with Norfolk Southern railroad.  He was a member of E.  J. Knox King Solomon Masonic Lodge # 130 and was a Deacon at Mt Carmel Baptist Church. Roy enjoyed farming and working with any kind of tractor and collected any type Railroad memorabilia.

He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Miles; grandsons, Jim (Candy) Miles, Andy (Barbie) Miles, and Jamie Miles; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Wyatt, Hunter, and Mikayla Miles; sisters, Louise Barnes and Edna Foster and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Rushing, and second wife, Moselle Webb Rushing; twin brother, Ray Rushing, and his parents, Mitty and Andrew Rushing.

Pallbearers will be Jim Miles, Andy Miles, Jamie Miles, Dillon Miles, Wyatt Miles, and Hunter Miles.
