Johnny Edsel Thompson

Visitation for Johnny Edsel Thompson will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 6-8pm at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson, 80, of Meridian passed away, Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at his residence.

A kind-hearted, gentle giant who always placed others before himself. “Pa” passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by loved ones.

Edsel was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

“Pa” will forever be remembered by his wife, Jewel Thompson, Children Donna Rollins (Pat), Robin Douglas (Jack), and Sha Luina (Johnny). Grandchildren who knew him to be “Superman”; Donna Shea Douglas, Casey Reynolds (Fred), Jonathan Douglas (Carmen), Lacey Randa (Trey), Leigh Garrett (Nick), Ryan Rollins (Brande). Great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Harley, Hunter, Jaden, Bryson, and Easton. He is also survived by his siblings; Dorothy Hildreth, Jewel Tisdale, Hazel Jackson, and Willadean Hines; and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Cloey and Agnes Thompson; Brothers Clyde and Walter Thompson, Sisters; Annette Harmon and Frances Robinson, and Granddaughter Lady Pricilla Rollins.
