Funeral services for Mr. Joseph "Joe" Bankston will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Westwood Baptist Church, with Bro. Phillip Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Newton, MS. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Joseph "Joe" Henry Bankston, 54, of Collinsville, MS, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Joe was honorably discharged from the Air Force after 21 years of service to his country. He loved to serve his church by playing the drums with the praise team. He was a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan. After all his years of watching the Saints play, he cheered the hardest for his favorite player, his son Zachary Bankston, at any sport he played. He also enjoyed making others laugh and having a good time. Joe was the favorite uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melisa Bankston; son, Zachary Bankston; parents, Forrest and Deborah Bankston; brother, John Bankston (Holly); nieces, Lily Bankston, Hannah Keyes, Kassie Keyes, and Haley Keyes; nephews, Mitchell Bankston, Luke Bankston, Daniel Keyes, and Dillon Keyes. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Forrest and Annie Bankston and his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Betty Magee all from Mt. Olive, MS.
