Joseph Powell Services for Joseph Powell will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Jones and Reverend Tony Harman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Powell, 69, of Collinsville died Friday, November 4, 2011, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was the owner of Telephone Technologies of Meridian and also did contract work for the Lauderdale County School System. Mr. Powell was an avid outdoorsman and loved doing outside activities with his constant companion and pet, Merlin. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Valerie Powell of Collinsville; daughter Michelle Pendergrass and her husband John of Meridian; son Mike Powell and his wife Natalie of Simpsonville, South Carolina; grandchildren Jennifer Kennard and her husband Keyes, Lauren Powell, Ashley Powell, Jacob Pendergrass and Hannah Pendergrass; brother Gordon Powell and his wife Laura Ann and sister Thelma Jordan and her husband Alvis. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Lena Ruth Powell. The family requests memorials be made to Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101. Pallbearers will be Jacob Pendergrass, John Pendergrass, Keyes Kennard, Robert Brunner, Mike Accord, Buddy Massey, Rusty Speed, Terry Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Powell, Alvis Jordan, Theodore Price and Ken Maeda.
