Joyce passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, in her home surrounded by the family who loved her with their whole hearts. To us, she wasn't just a mother or grandmother, she was the one our family orbited around.

Joyce was born on December 19, 1938, in Meridian, Mississippi-a place that shaped her spirit and the way she loved. Wherever she was, there was a sense of home, the kind you could feel before you ever crossed the threshold.

She was a homemaker, a calling she lived out with devotion and quiet pride. Joyce built a home not just with walls and routines, but with care, patience, and a deep sense of responsibility for her people. Much of her work happened behind the scenes, unseen by most, but its impact was lasting and far‑reaching. The homeplace simply ran on her presence and the steady love she poured into the everyday moments that mattered most.

She had a way of making people feel welcome before they ever sat down. Her presence was reassuring, like a well‑worn table or a light left on at dusk. You never had to wonder if you belonged-you just knew. Being near Joyce felt safe and familiar, like coming back to where you started.

Family gathered easier when she was there. She was the steady center of our family, the one who made life feel settled even when everything else felt uncertain. Joyce loved faithfully and deeply, offering a kind of nurturing that stayed with you long after the moment passed. She taught us by the way she lived her life, meeting each day with consistency, grace, and unshakable faith.

And the way she loved Joe Wade was nothing short of amazing. Married for 67 years, their love wasn't flashy, but steady-an example for us all. Watching them together taught us what it truly means to love through life's tribulations, hand in hand, season after season.

We will always remember Joyce in the kitchen, whether she was baking or cooking, recipe cards scattered across the counter. She was the queen of that space, and there was love baked into every dish, every pot, every pan it took to make a meal. You could taste her care in the food she made, and you could feel it in the way she fed not just bodies, but hearts.

She leaves behind her three daughters, Terri Pace (Jackie), Kim Wilborn, and Amy Jenkins (Earl); her grandchildren who loved her more than words can say, Wade Jarman (Haylie), Brandon Wilborn (Meagan), Ashton Welch (Daniel), Mallory Strickland (Jake), and Mckenzie Shimfessel (Cole); and her brother Ronnie Wilson (Pam).

She has paved the way for 13 great-grandchildren to continue her legacy. They will all grow up knowing how special each of them was to her, the joy they were in her life, and how deeply loved and prayed for they were.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wade Limerick; her parents, James and Edna Wilson; and her brother, Larry Wilson.

Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Wade Jarman, Brandon Wilborn, Daniel Welch, Jake Strickland, Cole Shimfessel, and Adam Kremer.

Joyce Limerick leaves behind more than memories; she leaves behind the feeling of home itself. Her heritage lives in traditions kept, in our family still drawn together, and in the love that continues to ripple outward from the life she lived so fully.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her presence remains woven into the heart of her family and the homeplace she built, lovingly and well.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
