Juanita Pitts Memorial service for Juanita Pitts will be held, Friday, March 16, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jamie Lamoreaux officiating. Mrs. Pitts, 81, of Meridian died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center North. She was very active in the community. She enjoyed serving as a Boy Scout leader, was involved in the PTA and in Garden Clubs where she even served as a State President. Mrs. Pitts was also involved with the Jaycees Jr. Miss Program, Bridge Clubs, and the Lawyer's Wife Association. She enjoyed oil painting, gardening, and cooking. Mrs. Pitts also taught art and painting classes. Survivors include her son Roy Pitts, Jr. of Meridian, daughters Jennifer Pitts Taylor and husband Jim of Meridian, and Lucinda Pitts of Meridian, grandchildren Lesley and Jacob Taylor, great-grandchildren Ryder Taylor, sisters Norma Gardner, Millie Blackledge and Louise Coffee, numerous nieces and nephews and her special friend and caregiver Josephine Hodges. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Pitts and her sister Patsey Dease. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to TEAAM Meridian (Local Autism Awareness Group), P.O.
