Julia (Judy) Brewer McNair Services for Julia (Judy) Brewer McNair will be held Friday, August 16 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Kenneth Owen officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Julia (Judy) Brewer McNair was born on June 6, 1944, in Meridian, Mississippi to Robert Edward Brewer and Jeane Pauline Hicks. She has had an adventurous life and has been very successful. Traveling the world, earning her Doctorate Degree of Philosophy allowing her to assist learning-disabled students to succeed at the post-secondary level and even teaching in Switzerland are only a few things she has accomplished. She has taught at Lynn University in Boca Raton and recently was a Professor at The Winston School in Dallas, Texas, always referring to students as "her students"; she truly has always had a passion for this. Julia has been a strong and independent woman who loved her companion, Angel, her Dachshund. Julia passed away on August 10, 2013 at Vitas Hospice in Irving, Texas after losing her courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Robert Edward Brewer and Jeane Pauline Hicks Warren, and husband, Henry L. (Bubba) McNair. Julia is survived by her Daughter, Sonya Lynn McNair of Ozark, Missouri; her Brother, Paul, his wife, Amy and two nephews, Matt and Zach Warren of Madison, Mississippi; her God-Daughter, Beth Amber Waldron of Altha, Florida; and sister-in-law, Lynn McNair of Jackson, Mississippi. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
