Julia Kathleen Scarbrough

Julia Kathleen Scarbrough, 89, of Meridian, MS, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Meridian, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, 6300 Hwy 39 North, Meridian, MS on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00pm – 3:15pm.

Funeral service will be held at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Saturday,  February 1, 2020 at 3:30pm with Dr. Nathan VanHorn of First Baptist Church Meridian officiating.  Burial will follow at Jones Chapel Church of God, Hwy 45 S.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. Musicians include Barry Germany, David Bishop and The Wilsons.  Pall Bearers will be Reed Scarbrough, Daniel Bene, Heath Wilson, Andy Cook, Matt Westerfield and Barry Boatner.

Julia was born in Meridian to Chester and Jewel Moulds on September 4, 1930.  She attended Clarkdale High School. She was a homemaker for years and once her children were grown, she worked for Medlins Fabrics.  When Medlins Fabrics closed Julia began her career at JC Penney, all the while helping her husband with his personal business.  She continued working for JC Penney until she retired.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Meridian.  Julia was a woman of God who taught by example and lived a life of faith that turned into a generational legacy of faith.  She loved spending time with her family, putting puzzles together, reading and cooking with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and our special Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions.  She enjoyed piddling with her flowers and plants. She like the adventures of traveling to new places especially with members of her family.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Edwin Scarbrough, son, Derry Keith Scarbrough, her parents, Chester and Jewel Moulds, and sister, Sandra Moulds Skinner.

Surviving are her children Randy Scarbrough (Linnie), Gay Scarbrough Wilson (Ray) and Jet Scarbrough (Rachel), seven awesome grandchildren (and spouses), 18 great grandchildren, sister Cherry Moulds Boatner, and four nephews.
