Katharine Gunn Lackey Graveside services for Katharine Gunn Lackey will be held Friday, January 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Reverend James Ruffin, Reverend Wallace Blackmon and Reverend Drew Dabbs officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Lackey, 93, of Topton died January 14, 2013, at Aldersgate where she had lived for three years. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and caretaker of several members of her family. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Marion as long as her health permitted. She worked at Greater Mississippi Life Insurance as secretary for a number of years. She leaves two daughters, Lynn Lackey Vance and her husband Wally and Glynn Lackey Boardman and her husband Wayne; brother-in-law Melvin Lackey (Celia); sisters-in-law Hazel Hicks, Bobbye Jean Knight (Lois) and Gatha Lackey; and a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved grand dogs Autumn and Savannah. She was preceded in death by her husband J. Sam Lackey; parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe S. Gunn; brothers R. Elmo and J. Darrell Gunn and sister Elizabeth Gunn Turner. A very special thanks goes to Margaret Cade and staff of Aldersgate Personal Care for their loving care of our precious mother. Also a special thanks to Compassus Hospice for administering to her in her final days. Pallbearers will be Harlan Davis, David Van Doren, Mike Engell, Larry Salter, Jessie Billups and Dennis Sollie. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
