Funeral Services for Mrs. Katherine D. Maxwell will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church with Reverends David White and Dr. Carl White officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Maxwell, 108, of Meridian died Monday, September 3, 2024, at Brookdale Meridian.
Mrs. Katherine was a joy to all who knew her. She was a Christian first and foremost, devoted to her church, and served wherever needed. She was a founding member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended. Mrs. Katherine was a great cook and always enjoyed hosting her family.
Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her daughter, Ann M. Watts; grandchildren, Larry Watts, John W. Watts, Jr., Rusty Evans (Sherry); her great-grandchildren, Marsha Easterling (Brian), Nicole Copeland (Clyde), Sydney Evans, Rhonda Evans, and Andy Evans; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and her nephews, William “Buddy” L. Rainer, Jr. and Charles E. Rainer.
Mrs. Katherine is preceded in death by her husband, C.P. Maxwell; her daughter, Jean M. Evans; her sons-in-law, Burney S. Evans and John W. Watts, Sr.; her grandson, Ronald Evans; her parents, Eugene and Francis Dollahite; and her siblings, Mildred Rainer and William Dollahite, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Evans, Larry Watts, John Watts, Jr., Carl Watts, Blake Taylor, and Matt Taylor, with Thad Gilder serving as honorary pallbearer.
The Maxwell Family suggests memorials be made as donations to Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
