Funeral services celebrating the life of Ms. Katherine Marie Morgan Taylor will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Bro. Eric Pickard officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Ms. Taylor, 75, of Meridian passed away on July 28, 2026 at Poplar Springs Nursing Center.

Marie was born the oldest of three children on March 26th, 1951, followed by her sister Patricia Ann Moulds, then her brother Robert Dewayne Moulds. Marie’s parents were Lonnie Robert Moulds and Katherine Viola Allen Moulds. She enjoyed various activities in her youth and attended school at West Lauderdale in Collinsville, Ms.

On May 31st, 1969, she married the love of her life, Henry Lee Morgan. Their love was known for its depth, and their marriage was a true testament of their devotion to each other. Their marriage was defined by endless commitment and sacrifice for their family, along with their shared love for the Lord. Marie gave birth to three children, Kathy, Lonnie, and Anna. Following her marriage, her greatest joy in life was raising her children, whose lives are her truest legacy. She was the heart of her home and, as such, took that responsibility very seriously and never allowed anyone to enter or leave her home without a meal and knowing that they were welcome back any time, and you never left wondering if you were loved, as she made sure you always knew your value to her.

Marie was known in her home and even outside of her home for her unwavering kindness, resilience, faith, patience, strength, and endless support that could always be counted on. Her deep love for the Lord, her commitment to prayer, and the persistent, never-wavering way her faith guided her life was truly inspiring. Maries spiritual devotion, acts of service, and legacy of love will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren forever. She lived her life dedicated to being a servant of the Lord and letting her deep faith guide her in all things. She was a devoted woman of prayer. She was always busy doing the Lord’s work.

She spent many years in childcare, including owning her own daycare with her family, Children R Us, from 1994 to 2000. She also spent several years as a K-3 & K-4 teacher at Russell Christian Academy, where she was loved by many and respected as an employee who could always be counted on for hard work, patience, and being an amazing teacher who molded hundreds of children and included her love for the Lord in each relationship she had with each child and their parents. Very rarely could she go into town without running into a child she had taken care of or a parent that recognized her as an important part of their child’s history. She was very rarely to be seen without a child, as it was what the Lord gave her a heart for.

The way that she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was fierce and admirable. If you were fortunate enough to be loved by her, you were blessed beyond measure. Outside of her love for her husband and family, she enjoyed cooking most, as it was part of her love language, which definitely was acts of service. She also enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, camping, walking, shopping, and taking care of her home. Her husband, Henry, passed away unexpectedly June 15, 2001. And though this was a tragic loss, the determination and perseverance she displayed along with her children during this difficult time was inspiring.

Later in life, she did remarry, William Edward Taylor. They spent several years together happily until such time as Ed passed away. Anyone who knew her, but most importantly her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly, have the comfort of knowing she is in heaven because of the way that she lived her life. There is a resounding, solidified knowledge that she met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, when she left this world and was greeted with the words we should all long to hear: “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Survivors include Katherine Lashell Morgan Calvert, Katherine Alana Calvert, Katherine Ava Bell, Charlie Gerald Bell, Miranda Kate Calvert Kirkland,( Nick Kirkland), Grayson Matthew Kirkland; Lonnie Lee Morgan, (Mandi Morgan), Brandon Lyle Morgan, (Lexie Morgan), Ridge Haven Morgan, Hartley McCall Morgan, Henry Lee Morgan, Mason Riley Morgan, Jacob Braxton Agent, Jaelynn Leanne Agent; Viola Leanne Morgan Agent, Joshua William Agent; as well as her sister Patricia Ann Moulds Pickard; and numerous extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Morgan, Lonnie Robert Moulds her father, Katherine Viola Allen Moulds her mother, and Robert Dewayne Moulds her brother.

The family asks that rather than funds given to a specific charity or organization, you use any funds you intended to donate to someone that is in need. Bless someone in circumstance, help someone that is struggling. Marie would love this, as she was always very giving and helpful to anyone in need. Initiate a random act of kindness in her honor.
