Kathryn Mary Hopkins

"Celebration of Life" and "Going Home" service for Kathy Hopkins will be held Saturday, April 20th at 2:00 pm AT 3820 Dillard Rd, Meridian, MS 39301. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Kathy Hopkins, age 74, passed away peacefully at home in Meridian, MS on March 23rd, 2024.

Kathy was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1949, and in 1962 moved to Tucson, AZ. She graduated from Amphi HIgh School in 1968 and a few years later returned to the Chicago area. She worked at Kemper Insurance in Long Grove, IL where she attained the position of Director of Claims for their health insurance business, she continued to work in the health claims industry until 2004 when she started her own at home business Data Stream Professional Service, Inc. She continued to work with her home-based business until retiring in 2021 Kathy was very active in her faith and a member of First Baptist Church in McHenry IL for many years. Later she was a member of Wauconda Baptist Church in Wauconda IL for several years before changing her membership to the Orchard Church in McHenry, IL., where she served the body by starting a prayer calling team that would weekly call the members to pray with and for them. After moving to Greer, SC in 2014 she continued her faith with North Hills Church in Greenville, SC. Kathy loved to serve people and sing and was always involved in the church and the church choirs.

Survivors include: her husband Jeff Hopkins, her daughter Lisa Huemann and her husband Jeff, her son Jason Patterson and his wife Julie, and her beloved grandchildren Justin, Kendall, Megan & Kyle. Her brother Kurt Kupczyk and sister Kim Wahl along with her childhood lifelong best friend Rosemary Goodwin.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Kupczyk (2007) and Verdell Lilliam Eckert (1969) and stepmother Mary Kupczyk (2004)

Kathy will be cremated with a portion of her ashes being spread in one of her favorite places, the mountains of Tucson AZ.
