A funeral service for Katie Maud Keel will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Followell officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Katie Maud Keel, age 92, of Lauderdale passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her home. Katie was an industrious office clerk for many years at the Meridian Naval Air Station in Lauderdale County. She had a love of flowers and birds, eating tasty cookies, enjoyed baking, was a talented artist, had a contagious laugh, but most of all lived to help others.

Survivors include her niece Vicky Warren of Clinton, MS and great nephew Harrison Warren (Anastasia) of Vicksburg, MS. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews including Linda Tunnell (Bill), Elaine Railey, Maggie Boeck, Dot Dunaway, Charlotte Keel, Jennifer Lovelace, John Wayne DeArmond, Edward Armistead, Don Armistead, Doug Carpenter, Collin Keel, Curtis Keel and many other beloved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Keel; parents Lyle and Maud Green Barrett; siblings Marie Joiner, Eloise Harrison, and Calvin “Bubba” Barrett.

Pallbearers will be Harrison Warren, Bill Tunnell, Melvin Warren, Ben Avara, Larry Salter, and Cliff Clayton.
