Katie Mae Mitchell Moore

d. April 3, 2015

Katie Mae (Mitchell) Moore There will be a private family graveside service for Katie Mae (Mitchell) Moore, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Moore, of Meridian, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 3, 2015. Katie was born on March 26, 1920, in Lauderdale County, to Allen W. and Maggie White Mitchell. She resided here all her life, and passed away at Rush Foundation Hospital at the wonderful age of 95. Mrs. Moore loved Jesus and her life revolved around her family. She loved to travel, close or far away - it didn't matter. Even in her 90's, she traveled with her family to Disney World, where she had visited many times with them. She also loved the Smokey Mountains, Gaither Gospel Homecomings, and really just anywhere else she could go. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Robinson and son-in-law, Andy Robinson, Sr., whom she called her own son; two grandchildren, Aimee McWilliams and her husband, Joe and Andy Robinson, Jr. and his wife, Marlena. She has five great-grandchildren, Peyton Robinson, Clay Boman, Kendall Robinson, Kyle Boman, and Katie Boman; four step-great-grandchildren, Aubree McWilliams, Joeye McWilliams, Zach Smith, and MaryKate Smith. She loved her nieces, Pat Skelton, Joann Kimbrell, Jean Monroe, Margaret Dill Jones, and Carole Thompson Holland, and a special sister-in-law, Joyce Moore and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joseph W. Moore; siblings, Mae Mitchell, Queenie Thompson, Leo Mitchell, Flora Luke, Hazel Dill, Charles Mitchell, and Ray Parker; as well as a very special sister-in-law, Dot Mitchell, and a very special nephew, Buddy Thompson. Pallbearers will be Clay Boman, Kyle Boman, Zach Smith, Mitch Skelton, J.T. Roberts, Gary Gardner, and Andy Robinson, Jr. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com. Visitation will be held 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
