It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kelly Thompson McKee Long, a beloved daughter, wife, teacher, and friend. Kelly entered this world on June 10, 1976, in Meridian, Mississippi, to her parents Glennis Thompson and Amy Johnson. She passed on September 13, 2023, at the age of 47, leaving a void that will forever be felt by her loved ones.

Kelly was a woman of immense intelligence and dedication. She pursued her educational journey with determination, earning a Master's Degree in Education. Her passion for shaping young minds led her to a fulfilling career as a teacher at Meridian Community College, where she touched countless lives and left an indelible impact on her students. Throughout her life, Kelly illuminated the lives of others with her unwavering love, kindness, and wisdom. Kelly's compassionate spirit radiated through everything she did. She possessed a warm and caring nature that made her loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Survivors include her husband Chris Long; parents, Glennis Thompson and Amy Johnson; brother, Wesley Thompson; nephew, Jonathan Stokes; special friend, Ann McKee (Doyle); numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by late husband Kelly McKee.
