Ken Thomas

Memorial services for Mr. Ken Thomas will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Tommy Kelly and Rev. Cliff Barker officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thomas, 61, of De Kalb, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Laird Hospital of Union.

Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman. He sold produce where he made many lifelong friends in and around De Kalb. He loved cooking as well as experimenting with his cooking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ken loved gardening and sharing the fruits of his harvest.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Rose Thomas; Two children, Christy (Chris) Hackworth, and Ken Thomas II. One Brother Eugene (Jane) Thomas and one sister Sue (Jerry) Read as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents George and Ardell Thomas; brothers, Leo (Janet) Thomas, and Marvin (Joyce) Thomas.

The family request donations be made to the Kemper County Baptist Association or the Gideon’s International in lieu of flowers.
