Kenneth W. Herrington, Sr. Services for Kenneth W. Herrington, Sr. will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, with Reverend Chris Winkleman and Reverend James Gibson officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Herrington, 72, of Meridian died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He retired as an educator from the Lauderdale County School System. Mr. Herrington was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Joann Herrington; sons Donnie Herrington and Ken Herrington, Jr. and daughter-in-law Cheryl Ann all of Meridian; sisters Sibil Laird of Guntown, Mississippi, Nell Barker of DeKalb, Mississippi and Martha Lee of Meridian, Mississippi; special brother-in-law William D. Barker of DeKalb, Mississippi; sister-in-law Helen Herrington of Philadelphia, Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Earl Herrington of Union, Mississippi; parents-in-law Don and Ida George of DeKalb, Mississippi, four brothers Johnnie Herrington, Gene Herrington, Lee Herrington and Jim Herrington. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Baptist Children's Village or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
