Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth R. Jones will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Clarke Venable Baptist Church in Decatur, Mississippi with Brother Mark Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur City Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Kenneth R. Jones, age 82, of Decatur, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

Mr. Jones was born in Union, Mississippi on March 13, 1941 to the late Harmon and Mattie B. Jones. He was a graduate of Decatur High School, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. In 1963, Kenneth married the love of his life, Mrs. Rosemary Germany Jones, and together they raised two children, Lisa Renee Jones and Thomas Harold "Tommy" Jones. Mr. Jones retired from the banking industry in 2013; he served as the president of The Citizens Bank in Decatur after a career that spanned over 45 years. A dedicated Christian, Mr. Jones was a long-term member of and deacon at Clarke Venerable Baptist Church. He also served on innumerable community service boards and committees and was a strong advocate for the advancement of East Central Community College in Decatur. In his spare time, Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was passionate about cooking for his friends and family and often volunteered his time cooking large meals for benefit fundraisers. Mr. Jones was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Rosemary Germany Jones; his children, Lisa Renee Jones and Thomas Harold "Tommy" Jones (Virginia C.); his grandchildren, Mary Grace Jones and Thomas Cole Jones; his sister, Shirley Faye Bowler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Paul Bowler.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions are shared with Clarke Venable Baptist Church Building Fund or to Cure ALS .

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.
