She attended school until age eight when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She survived months of advanced radiation and chemotherapy but was stunted in growth to be a perpetual eight year old. She shortly returned to school at Carver Middle school in Special Education to continue her education at Kate Griffin ('88-'92) until she finished with a certificate of completion at Northeast Lauderdale High School - Class of 1995. She regularly attended Special Olympics of MS during this time and later the Relay for Life Survivors Walk. Kim loved her pet cat, loved to make all sorts of crafts and to have her nails done. In 2006 she moved into Queen City Nursing Home (what she called her apartment) after complications from her earlier chemotherapy. And later moved to James T. Champion Nursing Facility (EMSH) where she lived until her death. She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger and loved country music. Survivors include her parents Garry and Sissy Ellsworth, her brother Matthew Ellsworth (Andy) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Reverend James and Jean Gresham, James and Jean Ellsworth; two uncles, Jimmy and Keith Gresham. Pallbearers include Leah Blackwell, Stephanie Cook, Crystal Dearing, Megan Loper, Rayko Lucky, and Katie Springer. Honorary pallbearers are the nurses, CNA's and staff of the James T. Champion Nursing Facility (EMSH). Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com. Visitation will be held at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
