L.A. Smith Services for L.A. Smith will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 1:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Coats officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Haven Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Smith 64, of Meridian, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at his residence. He was an active member of Lakeview Worship Center in Meridian where he served as an usher and greeter. Mr. Smith also served as Vice President of the Men's Fellowship. Survivors include his wife, Freda Smith; sons, Chuck Smith, Shane Smith and his wife Mary; grandsons, Bubba Eakes, Jason Smith, Tyler Smith, Zack Smith; granddaughter, Michelle Carpenter and her husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Hannah Carpenter and Chase Carpenter; brother, Lonnie Smith; sister, Patsy McGrew; and several adopted grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus Walton Smith; mother, Katherine Lang Smith; brothers, Sonny Smith and Rubel Smith; sister, Eunice Haney. Pallbearers will be Mickey Sellers, Doyle Thornton, David Roberts, Josh Carpenter, Marcus Smith and Sonny Smith. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
