Larry D. Thrash

Vice Mayor/Alderman, Town of Marion

Larry D. Thrash passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in the loving arms of his beloved wife of sixty years, Dorothy Nell Jones Thrash and son, Larry Clifton “Cliff” Thrash.  Other special children are Joyce Stamper, Libby Ford, Kelly Coker, Melvin Warren, Robert Herrington, Chris Jenkins, and Ann and Mike Rioux.  Wonderful friends and neighbors are Brian and Gerri Thompson, Sandra Rawson, John Harvey, Mayor Elvis Hudson, Joe Lee and Louise Hopson, and everyone in the town of Marion.

Mr. Larry was a kind and gentle man.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, was retired Assistant Fire Chief NAS, and was  presently serving as Vice Mayor/Alderman, Town of Marion.

He was a volunteer with Civil Defense, Red Cross, and numerous other community organizations.

To honor his requests, there will be no funeral or visitation.

Memorials to honor his memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Marion Children’s Fund or Town of Marion Benevolence Fund.
