Laverne Kennedy Buchanan Services for Laverne Kennedy Buchanan will be held Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Wayne Smith and Doug Buchanan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Buchanan, 80, of Meridian, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Specialty Hospital. She was a member of 15th Avenue Baptist Church. Laverne was a noted cook. She and her husband Walter were known for their entertaining. They enjoyed many camping trips and were members of the Good Sam Camping Club. Survivors include her son, Warren Buchanan of Meridian,MS; daughter, Diane Buchanan McCorkle and her husband, Sam of Rainbow City, AL; grandchildren, Sean Buchanan and his wife Kristy of Brooklyn, NY and their daughter, Kennedy; Jana Burchfield and her husband Jacob of Madison,MS; Laura McCorkle of Hermitage, TN; Blaine McCorkle and his wife Rebecca of Lynchburg, VA and their children, Gracie, Emma, Audrey and Sam; Special granddaughter, Veronica Buchanan Carter and her husband Chip of Lexington, SC and their son Jaden; special daughter in law, Janet Buchanan of Meridian, MS; sister, Faye Robinson and her husband, O.L. of Germantown, TN.
