Leeta Thigpen Knight

Funeral services for Leeta Knight will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Buddy Ables officiating. Burial will follow at Old Marion Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Knight, age 70, of Meridian passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Leeta attended Highland Elementary School and Highland Baptist Church through her early years. She graduated from Meridian High School, Class of 1963 and was on the reunion committee for many years. Leeta owned Ethel’s Beauty Shop and served on the Meridian Hairdressers Association Affiliate #10 as historian.

She is survived by her husband, B. Glenn Knight; children, Ricky Nicholson (Dana), Lisa Goldman (Sam), Michael G. Knight, and Monte Knight (Amber); grandchildren, Preston Nicholson, Alex Nicholson, Rainey Nicholson, Lexie Locklear, Eli Goldman, and Macie Knight; sister, Terrisa Babin; nephew, Jamie Posey (Rosamond); niece, Hollie Sharp (Gil); and lifetime special friends, Cecilia Ranager Jackson, Betty Jo Knight Ables, and Donna Jill Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. Thigpen and Ethel Smith Thigpen.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Posey, Rick Hasselle Jr., Bill Hasselle Jr., Preston Nicholson, Alex Nicholson, and Monte Knight.
