Lelia B. Cooley Graveside services for Lelia B. Cooley will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, at Magnolia Cemetery at 12:30 p.m., with Reverend Dr. Larry Hillard officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Cooley died at Golden Living Center on May 11, 2011, at the age of 101. She was a member of the Friendship Class at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church. In the past, Mrs. Cooley was a business owner and a secretary. Survivors include her daughter Martha Cooley Hudson, grandsons Scott Hudson and his wife Rose Marie of Meridian; David Hudson and his wife Sophie of Birmingham, Alabama and her great-grandchildren Melissa Hudson of Meridian and Alex Hudson of Birmingham. Nieces and nephews are Ida Frances Simpson of Ruleville, TX, William Cole and his wife Agnes of Charlotte, North Carolina; Robert Cole and his wife Bette of Montgomery, Alabama; and Tommy Lofton of Van Cleave, Mississippi. Mrs. Cooley was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Cooley; her parents Calvin L. and Ida E. Lofton and Holland Hudson an infant granddaughter. Pallbearers will be Jim McGinnis, Jack Shows, Darrell Denney, Lamar Gidden, Kinnie Ford and Bobby Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Lindy Conard and Jim Thompson. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at www.robertbarhamffh.com. Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2011, in the sanctuary of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
