Funeral services for Leon Minter will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 12:00pm, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Brothers Paul Harris and Andy May officiating. Burial will be at Friday, July 9, at 11:00am at Crystal Hill Cemetery in Thomaston, GA. Mr. Minter, 89, passed away July 6 at Rush Hospital. Leon retired from Roadway after more than thirty years. While he was there, he earned the four million mile safety award for being accident free. He loved his job, his home, his dogs, and his family, friends, and church family. He was a people person who had many special friends. Survivors include his son, Mike (Pat) Minter; daughter, Margie (Sidney) Morgan; grandchildren, Michael Minter, Jr., Michelle (Tommy) Smith, John Morgan, and Daniel (Deborah) Morgan; great-grandchildren, Kylie Smith, Ansleigh Minter, and Addison Morgan; brothers, Melvin and Edward (Joyce) Minter; he's also survived by his furry friends, Blue and Brownie. He was preceded in death by his parents, OC and Carrie Lee Minter; sister, Jenney Anthony, and granddaughter, April Nicole Morgan.
