Leonard Earl Shannon Graveside services for Leonard Earl Shannon will be held Monday, July 11,2011 at 10:00Am at Magnolia cemetery with Reverend Larry Hilliard officiating and Robert Barham Family Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Shannon, 80, of Meridian, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Anderson Regional Hospital south. Mr. Shannon was a member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Meridian High School and The University of Southern Mississippi where he was on the Tennis and Golf team. After serving in the Air Force he was in the retail business for a number of years, before opening his own used car business in Meridian. He enjoyed sports, especially Tennis and Golf and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include wife Leah Shannon of Meridian, sons, Len Shannon and his wife, Rhonda and David Shannon and his wife, Judy both of Madison; grandchildren, Braden, Neil and Kellie Shannon and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Hiram E. and Eula Shannon and a brother, George Shannon. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church.
