Leta Inez Satcher Pogue Services for Leta Inez Satcher Pogue will be held Monday, September 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Dennis Coats officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pogue, age 90, of Clarkdale Community, died Friday, September 3, 2010, at her residence. She was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, mammaw, and homemaker. She was famous for her biscuits and cupcakes. Survivors include a son, Sammy Pogue and his wife Elaine of Meridian, two daughters, Pat Gibson and her husband Bob of Clarkdale Community, and Janice Holladay of Clarkdale Community, her grandchildren Derek Gibson and wife Lavonda, Deiter Gibson and wife Joni, Emily Gibson, April Holladay Lewis and husband Wesley, Robert Holladay, Jason Holladay and wife Phyllis, and her great grandchildren, Garrett Vardaman Gibson, Landon Samuel Gibson, Erin Gibson, Brooke Gibson, Audrey Gibson, Lauren Lewis, Wes Lewis, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Louis Vardaman Pogue, her son-in-law, Fred Holladay, and her parents, Vinning A. and Callie Satcher, her brothers, Arthur Satcher and Jack Satcher, and her sister, Vera Johnson. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Derek Gibson, Deiter Gibson, Robert Holladay, Jason Holladay, and Wesley Lewis. Great is a mother's love.
