Mrs. Wilkins, age 88, of Daleville, MS, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Lila was born, the youngest of seven siblings, on November 1,1937 in Beulaville, North Carolina. On January 28, 1960, she met Jerry Edward Wilkins, and 90 days later, they were married on April 30, 1960, with Lila's $15 loan. To their joyous union, four children were born. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was truly a gift to everyone she came in contact with. Lila was an animal lover, especially of her dog, Peanut. She enjoyed gardening and canning - especially tomatoes. She served as the secretary/treasurer for Calvary Fellowship Church in Fayetteville, NC for thirty-six years and counted this as a true service to The Lord.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 66 years, Jerry E. Wilkins; children, Jerry Edward Wilkins, Jr. (Kristin Walz), Stephen Wayne Wilkins (Mary-Ann), Teresa Wilkins Pace (Mike), and Craig Andrew Wilkins; grandchildren, Joshua Wilkins (Becca), Jeremy Wilkins (Kim), Hannah Wilkins, Abby Ragan (Randall), Andrew "Andy" Wilkins (Brent), Susanna Fieber (Timothy), Grant Pace (Brittany), and Ryan Pace (Ivori); fifteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tate and Malissa Cole Mobley and her siblings, Dessie Adell Edwards, Tessie Arlene Mobley, Margie Normal Mobley, Lissie Nanuel Lanier, Eula Jane Jarman, and William Tate Mobley, Jr.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Accent Care Hospice for their compassionate care.
