Graveside services for Lillie Belle Molpus Purvis will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on December 28 at 1 p.m. with Dr. Charles Thomas and Dr. Steve Andrews officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Ms. Purvis, 99, of Merritt Island, Fla., formerly a resident of Zero Community for 63 years, passed away on Dec. 14 at Vitas Hospice on Merritt Island. Ms. Purvis ("Nanny," as her grandchildren called her) was a beloved and loving matriarch who supported her entire family in all their endeavors. She never worked outside her home, but she was known as a hard worker in all that she did. She was a member of East Orlando Baptist Church, Orlando, Fla. where her grandson was pastor. Her two daughters survive her: Juanita Purvis Thomas (Gene) of Collierville, Tenn. and Carol Purvis McCollum Hainsel (Mike) of Merritt Island, Fla. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Karen Thomas Andrews (Steve), Charles James Thomas (Leslie), Wendy Thomas Marks (Dan), Kimberly McCollum Burke (John), Blayne Garrett McCollum, Kristine Hainsel Yawn and Shane Michael Hainsel: She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren. Ms. Purvis was pre-deceased by her husband of 60 years: Hubert C. Purvis; her parents: Charles Louis Molpus and Myrtle Alice Covington Molpus; her four brothers: Charlie, Mark, Jack, Thomas; and her sister: Ruth.
