Mrs. Ethridge, 95, of Martin, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at James T. Champion Nursing Center in Meridian.
Mrs. Loanesse retired after over 25 years with the Lauderdale County School System. She and her husband, William “Red” enjoyed camping and enjoying sports, with grandchildren, children, and friends. Mrs. Loanesse had a green thumb and enjoyed her yard work and flower gardens. She loved any opportunity to fill her home with family and friends as they were her pride and joy. She was the youngest girl of 10 children and always enjoyed spending time around the table fellowshipping with her siblings for hours on end. She was a member of Pine Grove Church at Martin and attended as long as she could, up until quarantine began; church was the highlight of her week. To know her was to love her, and she loved fiercely in return; family and friends will miss her contagious smile, encouraging spirit, and loving personality.
Mrs. Loanesse is survived by her children, Ray Ethridge (Carol) and Angie Espey (Kenny). Grandchildren, Keith Ethridge (Kristy), Mechelle Ansley (Jason), Scott Shepperd (Tina), Jill Boren (Bill), Leanne Hartman (Dane), Jamie Castle (Jamie), Julie Bloom (Alex), Josh Espey, Abbie Espey, Jason Sharp (Joy), LaGina Davis (Eric), and Daniel Sharp. A host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mrs. Ethridge is preceded in death by her husband, William “Red” Ethridge; daughters, Kay Castle, and Pam Sharp. Two grandchildren, Kimberly Espey and infant granddaughter Ethridge, and great -granddaughter, Anna Castle. Parents Will and Alma Herrington, as well as her nine siblings.
The family requests memorials be made as donations to the Pine Grove Cemetery Fund in lieu of flowers.
Pallbearers will be Keith Ethridge, Jamie Castle, Jason Sharp, Daniel Sharp, Josh Espey, and Scott Shepperd.
