Lois Roberts Bishop

Services for Lois Roberts Bishop will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at 15th Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bishop, 81 of Meridian died Monday at 12:58 a.m. January 3, 2011 at Anderson Hospital. She was a lifelong member of 15th Avenue Baptist Church. She served as nursery worker for many years and in many other capacities. Mrs. Bishop was also an avid quilter. Survivors include her husband of 62 years Ray Bishop, of Meridian, daughter Catherine Bishop Knight and her husband James of Meridian, son Bruce Bishop and his wife Debi of Rockwood, MI, grandchildren Wendy Knight Whitaker and her husband Wayne, Jaime Knight Hegeman and her husband Joseph, Jason Knight and his wife Kelly, Whitney Bishop, Samantha Brock, and Alex English, great grandchildren, Zachary, Anna Catherine and Colby Whitaker, Emily and Claire Knight, Madeline and Noah Hegeman, Tyler and Savannah Brock, sister Joyce James of Houston, TX, Magarite Wright, Natchez, MS and Susan Roberts, of Meridian and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Rube and Irma Ward. The family requests memorials be made to 15th Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund. Pallbearers will be Gerald Davidson, Don Shehane, Phillip Price, Robert Huffman, Dewayne Davis, and Bruce Bishop. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 at the Funeral Home.
