Lonzie "Bud" Gatheree Grice

Funeral services for Mr. Lonzie Gatheree (Bud) Grice will be Friday, December 28, 2018 at Bethsadia Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Billy James and Bro. John Sweeney officiating, burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Lonzie Gatheree (Bud) Grice, of Philadelphia, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 after several years of fighting the devastating complications of diabetes.

He was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi on April 12, 1947 to Bill and Lois Grice.  Pop, as he was called by his family and grandchildren, worked 45+ years with his brother Paul Grice in the steel industry.  Paul affectionately gave him the nickname “Bud” because Lonzie and Gatheree was just too difficult.  Bud was known for his kindness, good nature, and sense of humor.

Lonzie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul Grice.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; a sister, Jean Hall (James); a sister-in-law, Becky Grice; son, Tony Grice (Pam); and grandchildren, Kaycee and Alex; and son, Jonathan Grice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared with the building fund of Bethsadia Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the funeral service.
