Lora Elizabeth "L.E." Jones Slayton

Funeral services for Lora Elizabeth “L.E.” Jones Slayton will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Larry Duncan, Reverend Ben Stears, and Reverend Donald Turner officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Slayton, age 84, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Rush Specialty Hospital.

L.E. was a member of Highland Assembly of God Church where she was very active. She was a strong example of a Christian woman. She worked and retired from Van Zyverden Brothers. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Survivors include her daughters, Darlene Gay (Andy), Vicki Kurszewski (Jim); grandchildren, Sacheen Morgan (Billy), Tanya Monts (Mike), Wesley Stewart (Karissa), Misty Lloyd, Nicole Williams, Rachel Brown (Richard), Lance Robinson (Tiffany), Lindsey Earle (Brian), Jake Kurszewski (Kristen), Lauren Frunza (Michael); great grandchildren, Alexis, Hannah, Chandler, Lauren, Dawson, Owen, Zoe, Sidney, KayLeigh, Max, Andy, Leigh, Austin, Chase, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Malachi, Isabella, Memphis, Troy, Warren, Elliott, and Theodore; siblings, Eula Davis, James Jones (Catherine), Janie Singley, Janice Hayes (Harold), Ronnie Jones (Diane); numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Ollie Mae Jones; grandson, James (Jamie) Michael Stewart, Jr.; siblings, Virginia Waller, Lonnie Jones, J.C. Jones, Mary Lou Sullivan, Esther Allen, Dot McKee, Bobby Jones.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Wesley Stewart, Lance Robinson, Mike Monts, Billy Morgan, Richard Brown; great grandchildren, Chandler Stewart, Caleb McCall, Dawson Monts, and Owen Stewart.
