Funeral Services for Ms. Loraine Conner Bishop will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 2:30 PM in the chapel of Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Overby and Pastor Charlie McNeese officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM to 2:15 PM at the funeral home prior to service. Interment will follow graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Loraine Conner Bishop, 95, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at Bedford Care Center of Marion on March 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

A graduate of Shuqualak High School, Loraine was a homemaker and enjoyed her role as the matriarch in her family and loved to cook, garden, and sew; she was honored to make quilts for each of her children, grandchildren, and was able to for most of her great-grandchildren as well.

As a devout member of Anchor Church of Meridian, Loraine enjoyed participating in her church community.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, TJ Bishop; daughter Virginia Bishop Sims and husband Gary; parents: George and Elva Warren Conner; her brothers Nelson Conner, Curtis Conner, Thurmond Conner, Daniel Conner; sister: Carolyn Conner Evans, and great grandson: Garett Cash.

Ms. Bishop is survived by her children: Paul D. Bishop (Betty) of Collinsville; Leisa Bishop Baysinger (Bryan) of Meridian; her grandchildren: Randall Sims (Dianne), Shonna Viner (Shane), Teresa Tucker, Brandon Bishop (Jill), Deree Sims, Corey Bishop (Aisling), Jarred Baysinger, Jonathan Baysinger (Regan), and Jacob Baysinger (Hannah); great- grandchildren: Wayde Cash, Dakota Street (Kayleigh), Karley Hall (Levi), Madisyn Sims, Brennan Sims, Reid Viner, Luke Viner, Trey Tucker, Hope Tucker, Addisyn Baysinger, Levi Baysinger, Conner Baysinger and Amelia Loraine Baysinger; nine great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

Ms. Bishop's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Bedford Care Center of Marion, with special appreciation to employee Melissa Brown, for all their continued support and care throughout her last two years of life.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be given to the Activities Department of Bedford Care Center of Marion for the benefit and enjoyment of the residents in the facility. She had many friends and will be missed by them.
