Mrs. Hill joyfully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 17, 2014, at the golden age of 93! Being a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, even from the days of her youth, she loved her Lord, her close and extended family and, last but not least, her church family. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and retired from the nursing field with Riley Hospital. Not so many years ago, she enjoyed working with the elderly, crocheting, embroidering, and spending time with her family and friends. Let us not forget the time she loved spending in her flower gardens and the shrubs around her home. Nadie Lorene Ellis was born to Oscar and Mollie Ellis of the Valley Road Community on March 11, 1921, where she spent a great deal of her life. She proudly noted she was a lifelong resident of Meridian. Lorene is survived by her husband, Nathan Hill; daughter and son-in-laws Dot (Bobby) Beasley of Meridian, Patricia Joiner of Lucedale, MS, Ramona (Paul) Bullock of Long Beach, MS, and Joyce Fain Wright of Lucedale, MS. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, as well as her sister-in-law, Margaret Ellis of Meridian. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Burnell Frazier and Cliff Ogletree; her parents, Oscar and Mollie Ellis; three brothers, Wilson Ellis, Curtis Ellis, and Jim Ellis; a sister, Norma Benton; a granddaughter, Vanessa Owenby; three sons-in-law, George Fain, James "Willard" Joiner, and Ralph Wright. Pallbearers will be James Joiner, Billy Bullock, Ricky Bullock, Robby Beasley, Billy Fain, Jim Odell, Dana Dickson, and James Benton Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
